William Tolar, b. abt 1730, Military records for bet 1782-1784 Bladen Co., NC (Register of Virginians in the Revolution Page: 776) "TOLER/TOLAR, William, Private, NC Militia Soldier drew two RW pay vouchers and lived in Sampson when first created. Soldier was a large landowner in Sampson and Bladen County in 1784. Soldier is listed in 1784 State Tax list for Sampson and there appears to be a problem. He was listed with 2100 acres of land. A check of Sampson deeds show he bought 200 acres from William Vann in March of 1782 and sold same back to William Vann in October for the same $200 dollars. Soldier patented over a thousand acres of land in 1781 and 1784. Soldier was a county official in Sampson in the 1784 era." He married Ann Parker, b. abt 1723, d. UNKNOWN. Children: i.
